When we speak about the fight for justice, we often talk about policy, reform, and accountability. But change—the kind that transforms lives—begins with community. It begins with access, belonging, and the assurance that every Black family deserves care, support, and the opportunity to heal.

This is the heart of Miles of Connections.

Born from the vision of strengthening the Black community of Contra Costa County, Miles of Connections brings together a powerful network of Black-led and Black-serving organizations dedicated to healing, wellness, empowerment, and stability. Together, we are building pathways to care that interrupt crisis, reduce harm, and plant seeds for long-term community health.

For too long, Black communities have been denied culturally rooted resources—whether in mental health care, maternal wellness, financial support, or youth development. Miles of Connections exists to close those gaps, uplift the organizations doing life-changing work, and ensure that Black families can find the support they deserve before crisis hits.

This is not just a directory.

It is a lifeline.

It is a movement.

It is a commitment to the future Miles should have had.

Below is a look at the organizations that make this work possible—leaders, healers, and advocates serving our community with love, expertise, and purpose.
