ADVOCATE FOR SYSTEMIC REFORM & ACCOUNTABILITY

We continue to push for bold policies that decriminalize mental illness, invest in community-based care, and hold institutions accountable for racial and mental health justice. Through local and state legislative advocacy, we work to expand non-police crisis response and eliminate systemic bias. Our efforts focus on securing long-term public investment, independent oversight, and equity-driven reform to transform how mental health systems operate and who they serve.

STRENGTHEN & EXPAND NON-POLICE CRISIS RESPONSE

We support culturally responsive, community-led crisis teams like A3: The Miles Hall Crisis Hub and are helping build a stronger, more connected 988 care network. Our goal is to ensure crisis response programs are trauma-informed, rooted in community needs, and built to last. By promoting non-police models that are evidence-based and equity-centered, we help close critical service gaps, prevent harm, and advocate for scalable policy solutions.

INFORM & MOBILIZE THE PUBLIC TOWARDS ACTION

We challenge stigma, misinformation, and punitive narratives through story-telling, educational outreach, and community organizing—all grounded in lived experience and a commitment to justice. Through powerful public events and campaigns, we work to humanize mental illness and reimagine crisis response. We equip individuals and communities with the knowledge, tools, and pathways they need to take action and push for meaningful change.

SUPPORT & EMPOWER IMPACTED FAMILIES

Our work is grounded in solidarity, advocacy, and the amplification of voices directly impacted. We offer resource referrals and opportunities for connection to families navigating trauma and injustice. By fostering aligned partnerships and a shared commitment to movement building, we strengthen the collective voice and power of impacted families across the country. Together with other families, we challenge harmful narratives and lift up the humanity of our loved ones—helping shift the public conversation and build collective power for lasting change.

WHO WE SERVE

MENTAL HEALTH IS HEALTH

The Miles Hall Foundation serves communities living with mental illness, centering Black families, who are disproportionately harmed, criminalized, and have experienced generational or personal trauma and historically lack resources and advocates.

OUR MISSION

EDUCATE - ADVOCATE - PREVENT

To honor the life and legacy of Miles Hall, we advocate for non-police responses to mental health crises, educate to dismantle mental illness stigma and racial bias, and support individuals and families most impacted by law enforcement’s excessive use of force during mental health emergencies.
