Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.
— Matthew 25:40
In a mission to uplift individuals and families by providing need-based programs that restore dignity, reduce hardship, and offer pathways toward healing, self-sufficiency, and hope. Grace Arms of Antioch serves their community as a faith-rooted nonprofit serving families in crisis and community members facing financial hardship, instability, or are emotionally overwhelmed. Through the Grace Closet program and other supportive services, they meet people at their most vulnerable moments with dignity, compassion, and tangible care — offering food, clothing, resources, and guidance grounded in love.
For many families, this kind of support is the difference between surviving alone and being reminded that they are not forgotten.
What They Offer & Who They Serve

Grace Arms provides practical, immediate assistance to families in East Contra Costa County who are struggling with basic needs or life transitions.
They offer:
The Grace Closet — free clothing, hygiene items, shoes, and essential goods
A food distribution program for households facing food insecurity
A community resource & computer center for job searches, resumes, benefits access & housing supports
Youth mentorship and life-skills programs
Referrals to additional care for families in need of wrap-around services
They serve:
Families experiencing financial hardship
People navigating housing instability or homelessness
Vulnerable youth and young adults
Individuals who have “fallen through the cracks” of formal care systems
Why Their Work Matters
When a family is struggling to meet its most basic needs, mental and emotional strain often follows. Grace Arms addresses this early point of distress — providing stability, relief, and connection long before pain escalates into crisis.
Grace Arms helps reduce the conditions that make crisis more likely — by ensuring families are supported, seen, and cared for before they reach a breaking point.

Partnership Acknowledgment
The organizations featured in Miles of Connections are part of a countywide effort to advance health, healing, and well-being within Contra Costa’s Black communities. Along with The Miles Hall Foundation, twelve organizations received funding through Contra Costa County to expand culturally rooted care and community support.
This work is built from the voices of over 4,000 Black residents who shaped the vision for a stronger ecosystem of services. In response, on August 12, 2025, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the launch of what will become the Federal Glover African American Holistic Wellness and Resource Hub — a coordinated network of Black-led wellness services to be anchored in East County.
The Contra Costa Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice (ORESJ), in partnership with the East Bay Community Foundation, is supporting this first cohort of organizations to ensure services reach the community now while the Hub’s long-term infrastructure is built.
As part of this initiative, The Miles Hall Foundation leads the “Miles of Connections” outreach effort, helping residents learn about, access, and connect with these vital healing resources.
