Here’s What We’ve Been Building (and How You Can Plug In!)
Hi friend,
If you missed our recent Volunteer Connection Call, here’s the heart of it in one place: what we’ve been up to, where we’re headed, and how you (yes, you) can be part of the next chapter.
Watch the replay here:
First things first: thank you. For six years, this movement has been powered by volunteers—neighbors, friends, and community members who showed up after Miles was killed, stood with the Hall family, and helped turn grief into action.
So... where have we been?
The short answer: building.
We’ve been a little quieter publicly because we put our heads down to strengthen the foundation behind The Miles Hall Foundation (TMHF):
Officially transitioned to an advocacy-focused 501(c)(3).
Recruited a larger, independent governing board and updated bylaws.
Got registered to fundraise in all 50 states (no small feat).
Sought grants, built strategic partnerships, and worked on clarifying our mission and program focus.
Listened—through interviews and surveys with volunteers, committee leads, and partners—to shape a long-term, sustainable future for The Miles Hall Foundation
You can download our new strategic plan here for the full picture of where we’re headed
Volunteers = Our Superpower
We meant it on the call: volunteers have made it all possible. From passing AB 988 (The Miles Hall Lifeline Act) to launching and building awareness for A3: The Miles Hall Crisis Hub, change happened because you showed up.
As we work to revamp our Volunteer Program, we’re reconnecting with the people who built this movement first to understand your interest and capacity to continue to plug in (at any level that works for you).
Quick ways to help right now
Tell a friend about 988 and A3 - spread awareness of non-police crisis response
